**This release contains breaking changes.** Your existing beta integration **will stop working** without code updates. Please read this guide in full and complete all required actions before **2026-09-02**. The `/v0/` endpoints will remain available until **2026-09-02** to give you time to migrate

#### What's Changing

1. **New URL structure**

The commercial release replaces the single `/v0/` prefix with a two-segment URL scheme that makes the **data version** and **API version** explicit and independent:

```
https://api.ecoinvent.org/{data-version}/{api-version}/...
```

For this release, your base path will be:

```
https://api.ecoinvent.org/v3/api1/
```

* `v3` refers to the **ecoinvent data version**
* `api1` refers to the **API version**

These two values can evolve independently, for example, a future ecoinvent data release may use `/v4/api1/`, while an API update may introduce `/v3/api2/`.

**Action required:** Replace all occurrences of `/v0/` in your integration with `/v3/api1/`. See the [API Versioning page](/getting-started/api-versioning.md) for full details.

2. **Search - New endpoint and response structure**

The search functionality has moved to a new endpoint:

The **response structure has also changed**. Results are now grouped hierarchically:

**New in this release:** Search now supports **semantic queries,** you no longer need exact terms to find relevant results.

**Action required:** Update your integration to use the new endpoint URL and update any code that parses the search response.

3. **Indicators - New endpoint and response structure**

The indicators search functionality has moved to a new endpoint:

The **response structure has also changed**. Results are now grouped hierarchically:

4\. **Reporting - New endpoint**

Reporting is new in this release. Each time you deliver a dataset and its impact scores to an organization, you are required to submit a usage report via the new endpoint:

The request body must include three required fields:

* `organization_id` — the organization the data was delivered to
* `dataset_ids` — IDs of the datasets consumed&#x20;
* `indicator_ids` — IDs of the indicators consumed

The endpoint returns `201 Created` when at least one valid ID is registered, or `200 OK` when none of the submitted IDs are valid and nothing is registered.

**Action required:** Reporting on dataset consumption is a contractual part of your license agreement. Integrate the reporting endpoint into your delivery workflow.
